SECURITY OFFICERS
Many names are used to describe a person working in the Security Industry:
Security Officer,
Security Guard,
Security Operative,
Security Personnel, and
Access Control Officer are just a few.
Our Security Officers:
- are privately and formally employed persons who are paid to enforce company rules and protect your property, assets, and people
- are uniformed and act to protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions. They observe (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems and/or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire, vandalism, or disorder; then take action and report any incidents to their manager, client, and emergency services as appropriate
- practice the "detect, deter, observe, and report" methodology
- adhere to the Four Licensing Objectives - Protection of life, Protection of property and premises, Prevention of loss and waste, Prevention and detering of crime
- take accurate notes, write detailed reports, and perform other tasks as required by the contractee they are serving
- perform access control at building entrances and vehicle gates; meaning, they ensure that employees and visitors display proper passes or identification before entering the facility
- patrol regularly and use electronic systems to record the frequency of patrols (reports are made available to the client)
